Peaceful Peak Doula has moved to Summit County!
Yesterday I completed the TriBella Sprint triathlon in Denver, CO. This was special race for a couple of reasons - my first triathlon since our boys were born and a bunch of my girlfriends were competing together. The race consisted of a 1/2 mile swim, a 10 mile bike, and a 5k run.
We all made it to the start line with varying degrees of preparation and expectations. My goals were to:
- Not panic in the water
- Finish in less than two hours
- Enjoy the company and camaraderie of some of the best girlfriends anyone could ask for
Mission accomplished on all fronts! What a great day!
So many analogies to this doula journey too - the idea of continuous support before a big event in your life (you should have seen our crazy awesome group texts for the last month! ha!), the notion that someone you trust is supporting with you the whole way (I loved seeing everyone at various points of the race. It totally lifted my spirits.), and support after a big event to debrief on all of the high and low points (a special thanks to Alissa for hosting our awesome post-race party!).
I'm excited for my next race and of course to support another family during the birth process.
What a fun life this is. Grateful from head to toe.
Today, we went for a family bike ride from Frisco to Copper Mountain, CO. My husband pulled our almost 4 year old son in the Weehoo. And, I pulled our 15 month old son in the Chariot bike trailer...
